Official rules and regulations for Encore orangecounty.com Facebook contest:
Promotional Dates: June 4 to June 20, 2012.
You must be 13 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
No purchase necessary. One valid entry per contestant. As an alternate method of entry into the contest, participants may mail-in a 3-inch x 5-inch card on which you have legibly printed your First and Last Name, Complete Mailing Address (e.g. Street, City, State and ZIP Code), Daytime Telephone Number and Email Address (if available). Mail card to orangecounty.com, Freedom Interactive Marketing, P.O. Box 11941 Santa Ana, CA 92711-1941. No photocopies or reproductions allowed. Limit one (1) mail-in entry per family, per stamped outer envelope. Mail in entries must be postmarked by June 19, 2012.
Except as noted in these rules, information collected from the contest entries, whether mail-in, online or otherwise, is strictly used only for the purpose of winner notification and will not be re-used, sold or shared in any manner by Promotion Entities or any third parties unless entrant has elected to receive additional information and promotional material.
HOW TO ENTER: Promotion will be run on Facebook from June 4 to June 20, 2012. Users are eligible to win by completing the online contest form on our Facebook page & on the Upickem submission form. All online entries must be submitted online by June 20 2012 at 5:00PM. Winners must be a fan of the Encore orangecounty.com Facebook page and will be chosen from entries at random; chances of winning are based on the number of entries received. The winner will be selected and notified by Encore orangecounty.com by June Friday 22, 2012 at 5:00PM.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If orangecounty.com cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and any "extra chances" awarded by Freedom Newspapers Sandbox. Extra chances are awarded by:
- Getting others to enter through a unique (per submission) referral link presented on the page after entering.
- Get 2 extra chances for every 1 other to enter.
- No limit on extra chances.
Freedom Newspapers Sandbox reserves the right to modify requirements and "extra chances" at any time.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.
orangecounty.com reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
orangecounty.com reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open only to legal US residents, Southern California residents, who are physically located and residing therein, and who are 13 years of age or older as of the start date of the contest period. In order to be eligible to win, participants must not have won a Register or orangecounty.com contest within the past 60 days. Employees of the Orange County Register, their affiliates, retailers, subsidiaries, partners, advertising or promotion agencies, any agents acting for or on behalf of the above entities, their respective parent companies, licensees, or members of their immediate families (spouses, children, siblings, parents) and/or persons living in the same household as such persons, whether or not related, are ineligible to enter this contest. The Orange County Register, and all herein mentioned affiliates, shall not be responsible for any damages – compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise – with respect to or in any way arising from this contest.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to orangecounty.com the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
orangecounty.com reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and/or orangecounty..com. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and orangecounty.com are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
RESTRICTIONS: One entry per household. Winners are responsible for all taxes, if any. No cash equivalent, prize substitution or transfer of prizes allowed. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Offer is void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. The Orange County Register is not responsible for any unclaimed prizes, stolen, lost or misdirected mail or for printing errors. The Orange County Register reserves the right to alter and/or rescind any prize or contest obligation at their discretion without further notice. Winners consent to the use of their names/likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
orangecounty.com reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
